Mitspil Casino app

Denmark launches an app to battle gambling problem

A new Danish Casino app is being launched to combat problem gambling. Denmark is a country at the very forefront of the online gaming industry. They’re taking another huge leap in the field, this time tacking problem gambling issues. MitSpil (My Game in English) is an app launched by the Danish Gambling Authority that allows the players of online games to accurately record the time and money deposited gambling.

Casino app that’s easy to use

MitSpil has been designed to be user-friendly and to reach especially millennials, an age group known to use different apps to record and store their results and data. The app requires the user to input their winnings and losses over time, thus offering a quick overview of their gambling activity at real money casinos, and how much the user is affected by it. Gambling is a global problem and one of the main issues online casinos and their employees are dealing with. There have been several other apps launched that have been specifically designed to help players struggling with a gambling issue, but Danes are confident that their new casino app is the real deal.

Gambling issue in Denmark

The Danish Government is worried about gambling for a reason. According to studies carried out by the National Center for Social Research in Denmark, approximately 10,000 adults in Denmark, between the ages of 18 and 74 are experiencing a gambling problem. The most delicate group are males between the ages of 18 and 39. MitSpil is trying to reach these players and offer them a tool to control their gambling habits. Oftentimes players may not realize how much their gambling activity is actually affecting them, and for this reason, keeping a track of your gaming sessions can be essential.

UK Casinos

Both Denmark and the UK have highly regulated online casino industries and thus take steps to promote responsible gambling to their citizens. A similar problem gambling casino app has been launched in the UK, called Gambling Therapy, but it’s more of a problem gambling information portal than this very practical accountability tracker.

As the players are required to record their winnings and losses accurately and timely in the app, it notifies the player immediately if the gambling activity is bringing the player towards a negative bankroll. Simply put, the app alarms the player when their losses are exceeding their winnings. The first version of this desktop and mobile app was released in November 2016, creating an informative platform for Danish online players. The version 2 has been significantly upgraded from the first one, providing a more in-depth overview and analysis of actual money spent on gambling. The app also has an additional feature, alerting the player if data has not been input during a certain period.
