Celebrity Gambler: Why Kick is Happy with Casino Content

As an enthusiast of casino games, you no longer need to visit a land-based casino in order to enjoy your favourite games. Kick.com is the newest live-streaming platform in town that allows you to stream gambling content from the comfort of your home. The Australian-based video platform was founded back in 2022 by Stake.com co-founders Ed Craven and Bijan Tehran, and renowned streaming personality Trainwreckstv.

Kick.com was created with one primary goal – to be the home of gambling streamers from all over the world. In fact, the platform comes at a time when popular platforms such as Twitch are cracking down on all gambling-related content. The recent enforcement on Twitch saw many accounts being banned, leaving online casino streamers with only one option –Kick.com. As a new kid on the block, Kick.com has gained traction very quickly, with more and more renowned streamers signing up on the platform.

Kick’s Statistics as a Streaming Platform

Despite being on the market for only one year, Kick has grown to become one of the most popular live-streaming platforms in the world. As of now, it has about 421,404 streamers and 113,672 viewers globally. Moreover, the platform boasts 4000+ games being streamed, 2697 channels, and 458,393 peak online viewers. It’s worth mentioning that Kick is a young site that is growing day by day. With new streamers and viewers getting in on the action, this means figures will keep changing.

Kick’s success can be attributed to its clear commitment to fairness and transparency. The platform provides its terms of service and community guidelines that are readily available on the site. Unlike other streaming platforms, such as Twitch, Kick will not ban your account for no reason. The platform has also created a stable environment, giving streamers the freedom to create the content they want.

Why Kick is Happy with Casino Content

When you visit Kick for the first time, you will realize that the platform is so much into casino content. Well, the platform has focused on this area for a number of reasons. In the recent past, casino streaming skyrocketed, with slots becoming the 7th most popular category on Twitch. Online casinos such as Stake.com also started sponsoring renowned streamers such as Trainwreck to market their products. In September 2022, Twitch changed its policy, prohibiting streamers from streaming gambling-related content.

The move by Twitch to prohibit gambling-related content left prominent casino streamers with no home. Kick capitalized on this situation and created a platform that would allow former Twitch streamers to stream their gambling content. Trainwreck was one of the streamers whose Twitch account got banned but found a new home on Kick. Other popular casino streamers who switched from Twitch to Kick include xQc, Average Dad, WestCol, and Corinnakopf.

As we mentioned earlier, Kick was founded by Stake Casino co-founders Ed Craven and Bijan Tehra. Stake Casino used to promote its casino products via Twitch, but its account was banned for streaming casino content. As a result, the founders saw the need to create a platform that would advertise its products without limitations. The founders also wanted to give other online casinos a platform for showcasing their products.

Is Kick Only for Gambling Streaming?

Kick is known for streaming gambling-related content. Slots & Casino is the most popular gaming category, with more than 30,000 viewers on average. Their platform also has other gaming categories, such as poker, sports betting, table games, sports breaks, and Dice. And that is not all; the platform has a “Games” section featuring all popular e-sports games. If e-sports are your favourites, you can view popular e-sports such as Valorant, Call of Duty, Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft, Apex Legends, and Farlight 84.

Gambling is not the only content you will find on Kick. Apart from gambling, you can open the Music section and view your favourite music. In the music section, you can choose from music with a DJ, Dance, Guitar, and Acoustics. IRL is another popular category you will find on Kick. The category has content revolving around news, podcasts, food & drink, botany, 3D printing, just chatting, travel & outdoors, pool hot tubs & bikinis, etc.

Kick also has a “Creative” section with streamers showcasing their creative skills. Whether you like music production, digital art, software & design, body art, graphic design, video production, photography, or sifting, this section has it all.

How Do Streamers Make Money on Kick

Making money on Kick as a streamer is straightforward. In order to start earning on Kick, you only need to create an account and start streaming. Once you have at least 75 followers and 5 total streamed hours, you will start receiving some dollars. Kick is considered one of the sites that are streamer-friendly in terms of payments. As a streamer here, you will receive 95% of total subscription earnings. The other 5% is the charge on creators. As you can see, the revenue cut on Kick is better than Twitch, which charges 50% of subscription earnings.

Kick is also better than YouTube, which charges 30% of the total subscription earnings. Another exciting thing about Kick is that it allows streamers to keep 100% of any tips sent by viewers. The tips are usually referred to as “Kicks” and come with no commission or transfer fee. It is worth mentioning that Kick doesn’t have advertisement opportunities at the moment apart from banner ads. However, the Kick Creator Program could soon launch advertisements, allowing streamers to earn money for every hour they broadcast.

Is Dr. Disrespect Making the Move to Kick?

Kick has continued to gain immense popularity, with more and more renowned streamers showing interest in joining the platform. The latest streamer to show interest is Dr Disrespect, popularly known as Mr Doc. Dr. Disrespect is an American video game streamer who had over 4 million followers on Twitch before getting banned for unknown reasons. His interest in joining Kick came shortly after the Stake-backed streaming platform signed a $100 million deal with seasoned streamer – xQc. Mr. Doc said that he wanted half of that money to seal the deal.

Kick CEO Ed Craven, in his response, said that he had been a fan of Mr. Doc for a long time and would like to work with guys like him. The CEO further noted that they are in talks with Mr. Doc’s team. The move to sign a deal with Mr Doc would see Kick record a whopping 4 million subscribers who were his followers on the Twitch platform. Other streamers, especially those who used to stream gambling content on Twitch, are also expected to join Kick. The rationale behind this is that the rules at Kick are more relaxed. Kick also allows streamers to keep a generous 95% of their subscription earnings.
