The WSOP 2026 Schedule: Jewellery for Men in Hoodies

The World Series of Poker has dumped its 2026 schedule onto the internet, and yours truly is here to sift through the wreckage. It is the 57th time this circus has come to town, offering yet another opportunity for people to spend thousands of dollars to sit in a room that smells like lukewarm coffee and broken dreams. It is basically a quest for shiny bracelets, which are really just fancy adult scouts.

The 2026 edition runs from May 26 to July 15 at the Horseshoe and Paris on the Las Vegas Strip. If you are planning a quiet, refined getaway during that window, maybe reconsider. The 2025 season was a record-breaker, crowning Michael The Grinder Mizrachi as the Main Event king with a $10 million top prize. He paid $10,000 to enter, but let us not talk about the entry fee. That would be like talking about the price of gas while driving a Ferrari off a cliff.

The Half-Billion Dollar Hand-Off

The most fascinating part of the poker world right now is not the cards, but the corporate shuffling. Caesars Entertainment sold the WSOP brand to the NSUS Group for $500 million. If you have never heard of NSUS Group, do not feel bad; neither has anyone else who does not get a holiday card from them. Caesars got $250 million in cash and expects the other $250 million in 2029, the same year we will all be commuting via jetpack. Caesars still gets to host the live tournament for the next two decades, though, so they are not quite done with the poker crowd yet.

There are 100 bracelets being handed out this year across various events with names that sound like discarded 1950s monster movies. You have the Monster Stack, the Colossus, and the Millionaire Maker. If you are the type of person who views a quarter-million dollars as pocket change, there is a Super High Roller No-Limit Holdem event with a $250,000 buy-in. It is the perfect way to prove you are serious about poker, or at least serious about having no concept of value.

Giraffes and Gender Gaps

The legendary Main Event starts July 2, 2026. This $10,000 buy-in tournament is a massive endurance test that lasts longer than the gestation period of a Nubian giraffe. It is a real nail-biter for anyone who finds watching a guy think for ten minutes while touching his chin to be high-octane entertainment.

Poker rooms in Vegas are vanishing faster than a magician’s career because they do not actually generate much revenue for the casinos. However, the WSOP still draws a crowd. Last year saw the third-highest participation in history with nearly 10,000 entries. Women, however, still account for less than 5% of the field. This is largely because women are generally too smart to spend six weeks in a room full of dudes who think wearing sunglasses indoors is a viable substitute for a personality.

This blog plans on entering the 2026 Main Event, assuming we hit a massive video poker jackpot first. The odds of that are roughly the same as Carrot Top dyeing his hair a sensible shade of brown. But hey, you cannot win a bracelet if you do not buy in. Good luck out there, you are going to need it.
