Irish media says ban on gambling advertising between 5.30am and 9pm is unviable

By Shadrack Kairu

The big players in horse racing television are digging their heels in over Ireland’s plans to ban gambling ads during daytime hours. Both Racing TV and Sky Sports Racing have warned that the proposed watershed would leave them commercially unviable in the Irish minimum deposit casino market. But the government is having none of it, insisting the channels are crying wolf.

Minister James Browne, who is steering the new Gambling Regulation Bill through the legislative process, has batted away appeals for racing broadcasters to be exempted from the forthcoming restrictions. He dismissed claims by Racing TV that it is not technically feasible for the channel to show different ads in different countries.

“It is completely untrue that there is any kind of technical impediment from them showing different advertisements in two different states,” Browne stated in the Seanad this week. “It does not stand up to any kind of scrutiny. In fact, TV stations now have the software to show two people in two houses beside each other different ads at the same time.”

The Minister went on to reject the idea that Racing TV and Sky Sports could be granted a “monopoly” on gambling advertising by circumventing the 5.30am to 9pm watershed for their channels.

“If we were to give two TV stations a monopoly on gambling advertising into the country, it would not survive under competition law,” he argued. “This would give them an extraordinary monopoly providing enormous financial worth to those companies. It is not something that would work in this State.”

Media requests an exemption from the advertising ban

At the crux of the stand-off are the broadcasters’ assertions that losing the ability to show gambling adverts would undermine their financial viability for serving Irish audiences. Both Racing TV and Sky Sports Racing have made plain that the legislation as currently drafted would force them to stop broadcasting in Ireland through their existing platforms and operations.

“The drafting of the Bill, as it stands, makes it unviable for Racing TV to continue broadcasting in Ireland,” stated Racing TV in response to speculation it could explore using increased bookmaker contributions as an ad revenue replacement.

The channel also firmly rejected that idea as a non-starter, asserting: “Having bookmakers’ contributions on the channel as a replacement for ads is completely against the regulator Ofcom’s advertising regulations.”

Backing up Racing TV’s position, Martin Stevenson, Chief Executive of parent company Racecourse Media Group (RMG), reiterated there are no plans to pursue bookmaker integrations as a revenue band-aid.

“We can categorically say that no deals have been reached with bookmaker partners on this,” Stevenson stated. His comment appeared to contradict reports that Racing TV was exploring a ‘Plan B’ option involving increased appearances by betting firms.

Those reports suggested both Racing TV and Sky Sports Racing were preparing concepts where more bookies could effectively pay for advertising through regular free promotional spots during broadcasts. However, Racing TV insists such an approach would violate Ofcom rules in the UK.

As per the Irish government, the plan is to prohibit most gambling ads from TV and radio between the hours when children are most likely to be viewing or listening. The move is being positioned as a public health measure aimed at protecting vulnerable groups and the young from excessive exposure to gambling promotions.

However, the racing industry argues this approach fails to account for its special status and tight regulatory oversight. Racing broadcasts already operate under strict rules, with bookmakers and their representatives required to refer to “the regulator” repeatedly during live coverage to remind viewers that gambling is a regulated activity.

Australia offers potential model

Some senators urging amendments to carve out exemptions for racing media outlets pointed to the example of Australia as a potential model to follow. There, advertising watershed rules exempt paid subscription TV channels from blanket bans on gambling promotions during certain hours.

“I suggest that we look at it further and perhaps look at the Australian model where it has been done successfully in recent years,” said Fine Gael’s Garrett Ahearn during the Seanad debate.

Timmy Dooley of Fianna Fáil expressed concerns that cutting off Irish viewers’ access to domestic racing coverage could represent “a terrible blow” to livelihoods, rural economies and the sport’s ability to market itself effectively.

“They believe these represent key pillars in the ability to market the sport and, importantly, our bloodstock sector,” Dooley said of the industry’s stance. “They are seriously worried that if racing were to disappear from our television screens because it would be no longer commercially viable for those channels to broadcast here at home, it would have a detrimental impact on the Irish horseracing industry.”

For his part, Minister Browne insisted the Gambling Regulation Bill has gone out of its way to protect Irish racing interests and maintain the sport’s visibility to the public:

“We have gone to extraordinary lengths in the legislation to ensure that the horse racing and greyhound racing sector is protected. For example, we could have put blanket bans on sponsorship. We have put provisions into the legislation to ensure that what we call incidental advertising does not impact on the showing of horse racing.”

He said branding and marketing visible at racecourses like sponsored races, bookies setting odds and trackside signage will all still be permissible within the legislation. “Therefore, anything that can be seen at a horse race today can still be seen after the legislation passes,” Browne stated.

The Minister suggested the racing bodies are effectively demanding special favoured nation status. “Some in the horse racing sector has asked that racing channels would, in effect, be given a monopoly on showing gambling advertisements in the Republic,” he said.

Regulator unmoved

Despite rising pressure from various senators and racing stakeholders, the government appears unlikely to amend the Gambling Regulation Bill to exempt channels like Racing TV and Sky Sports Racing from the upcoming ad restrictions.

The legislation completed its passage through the Dáil Eireann (lower house) and has now entered the first stages in the Seanad. Several more debates and committee sessions lie ahead before it can be signed into law.

As it currently stands, the Bill rejects exemptions and maintains the watershed prohibiting most gambling ads from 5.30am to 9pm across TV, radio and digital platforms. With the government holding firm, the door may be closing on bookmakers’ persistent efforts to find loopholes or carve-outs permitting unfettered gambling promotions.

Betting on compromise?

Reaching compromise may require the racing media outfits to demonstrate more flexibility and open-mindedness toward potential solutions. Perhaps a framework could be established allowing limited advertising only within coverage of races and meets themselves, rather than opening the floodgates to gambling spots running throughout entire broadcasts.

Alternatively, negotiating a slightly narrower watershed more tailored to peak children’s viewership while still opening some daylight hours for promotion could offer a middle ground.

Whatever the outcome, the commercial broadcasters appear locked in a tense stalemate with lawmakers over safeguarding measures intended to curb societal gambling harms. As the Bill advances further through the legislative pipeline, both sides may need to make some concessions to find a tenable path forward that balances public health priorities with the interests of one of Ireland’s most globally prominent sporting industries.

How to search for a casino bonus in South Africa

By Vinolin Naidoo

You know that feeling you experience when you go grocery shopping without a shopping list at month end? I don’t know about you, but when I think about that question, the immediate feelings that come to mind are anxiety and stress.

Now imagine those scenarios but in the South African casino landscape. Are you confused right? Well, let’s put it this way: if someone asks you what casino bonus is the best to trigger at real money casinos, what would you say? Free spins and deposit bonuses – what about cashback? Wait, let’s back up; which casino are we even talking about? There are hundreds of them!

The choices are endless, like shopping at a grocery store when a sale occurs. Now, what happens if more than one grocery store has these sales? What if 100 stores are having sales? How do you decide which store to go to? Who even has the time to visit multiple stores or flip through the sale catalogues? Wow, these are a lot of questions to deal with, and I am sure your stress levels just shot up.

The whole point of my ramblings is to show you how difficult it can be to decide or find what you are looking for when there are infinite options. The South African online casino landscape is similar to a grocery store; hundreds of real money South African casino sites are popping up on the market. The stress of finding the right one for you is difficult; there are so many options and requirements, from making sure that these sites are legal and safe, while also offering plenty of bonus offers. We at MDC are not here to add to your stress and anxiety but to relieve them and provide solutions sourced from hours of research from industry experts. The simple solution to finding the best online casinos in South Africa and bonus offers is to use everyone’s trusted online best friend, Google.

Use these search terms to find R50 and R100 sign up bonuses

If you have never used the internet and don’t know what Google is…wait, never mind, you are reading this content, so obviously you know what Google is; how else would you have found this article? Google is amazing; everything you have ever wondered about can be explained in seconds. Google is the ideal solution for finding great value for money casino bonuses in South Africa. Millions of hits appear when you search for casino bonuses in Mzansi, and reading through them all is impossible. However, what if we told you there are ways to streamline that process? Oh, we have piqued your interest now, right? Well, of course, we have. Remember that we at MDC are here to make your online casino experience easier, safer and less stressful.

The easiest way to use Google to aid in your online casino bonus offer journey is by using a list of search items tailored to the industry and what most players want. Research has shown that no one has R1000-2000 to spend at online casinos in these tough financial times. Today, most players are depositing and playing with R50 and R100. These amounts don’t break the bank and provide players with hours of entertainment and gameplay, with the possibility of winning up to 20,000 times your stakes. Below, we explore some of the best search terms to use when finding your next casino bonus in South Africa.

R50 Sign up Bonus

R50 sign up bonus offers are available at many top rated South African online casinos. These offers are generally referred to as registration bonuses. Online casinos offer new players a sign up bonus once they have created a new account and before they can even make a deposit.

R50 Welcome Bonus

Every online casino in South Africa offers a welcome bonus to new players, with additional funds on top of their deposits. Players can use the additional funds to play more and increase their chances of winning.

R50 Deposit Casino

Most casinos offer deposits starting from R10, but the popular option used by many South Africans is R50. When you search for R50 deposit casinos, most results will be from trusted casino sites that accept deposits of these denominations.

R100 Sign up Bonus

Similar to the R50 sign up bonus search, the R100 bonus offer works the same way but will have bigger wagering requirements. So make sure to read them carefully before triggering any offer.

R100 Free Spin Bonus

Free spins are a beloved option by many South African players for casino bonuses, as they provide players with additional gameplay, ensure players play new games that they generally would not play, plus increase the winning chances. Generally, these free spin offers will have wagering requirements, so we encourage players to read them and search for which games apply to the terms.

R100 Casino South Africa

Adding the word South Africa in your Google search will make most results tailored to South African real money sites. R100 deposit options are popular in the Rainbow Nation, and all casinos that accept these deposits will pop up on your Google search.

What to search for to find a South African Casino site

When you have finished using Google to find casino bonuses in South Africa, the next step is to find trusted South African real money casinos. The best way to find licensed casinos is to use the following search terms:

The National Gambling Board (NGB) regulates the gambling industry in South Africa, including online gambling. South Africa has nine gambling regulators; you can find more information on them via the NGB website. All licensed South African online casinos must have the regulator’s name and their platform’s license number visible on their sites.

UAE on the verge of legalizing gambling as it introduces federal gambling regulator

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) made headlines this month when it announced that it was creating a new federal authority to regulate commercial gaming activities including lotteries and online casino gambling. This surprising move positions the UAE to become the first country in the Gulf region to legalize gambling, marking a major shift for the traditionally conservative Islamic nation.

The new regulatory body, known as the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), has been tasked with introducing a “world-leading regulatory framework” to govern gambling activities across the UAE. While no timeline has been formally announced, industry experts believe casinos and lottery games could launch within the next 5 years.

The GCGRA will be led by two gambling industry veterans from the United States – Kevin Mullally, former executive director of the Missouri Gaming Commission will serve as CEO, while ex-MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren will be chairman.

Recent developments leading up to the GCGRA announcement

While still surprising, the move to create GCGRA did not come out of nowhere. Over the past few years, the UAE has been progressively relaxing its stance on gambling.

In 2020, the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah announced plans to allow gambling at integrated casino resorts in the future. This was followed in 2022 by the emirate establishing its own casino gaming regulator.

Ras Al Khaimah moved quickly to capitalize on its new gambling-friendly stance. In January 2022, Wynn Resorts announced a deal to build a $3.9 billion luxury integrated resort, complete with a gaming floor, on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The resort is slated to open in 2026.

In addition to Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai has been easing restrictions on gambling. Although casinos are still prohibited, Dubai has allowed cruise ships with onboard casinos to dock there since 2020. Two Las Vegas giants – Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts – are also constructing non-gaming integrated resorts in Dubai.

Finally, in 2020 the UAE approved a national online lottery called Emirates Loto. Although promoted as a “lifestyle lottery”, it has many similarities to traditional lotteries, potentially paving the way for a state-sponsored lottery programme under the GCGRA.

Massive long-term gaming revenues predicted for UAE economy

If regulated casinos become a reality, gaming industry analysts estimate the economic impact could be immense. According to Bloomberg, the introduction of casinos could potentially generate $6.6 billion in annual gaming revenue across the UAE. That would likely make the country one of the top gaming markets globally behind only Macau, Las Vegas and Singapore.

A report from the Telegraph further underscores the massive upside, suggesting the UAE has an opportunity to become the gambling capital of the Middle East. With its extravagant luxury establishments and appeal to the ultra-wealthy, the region certainly possesses the necessary ingredients.

Of course, significant unknowns remain around exactly how gambling will be implemented across the UAE’s different emirates. Local laws and regulations are still being formulated and leaders will need to balance economic gains against cultural considerations within each area.

Regardless of the complexities, the consensus is clear – the UAE gambling market holds incredible potential. The opportunity to generate billions in gaming revenue annually and transform the Middle East’s tourism landscape is real and substantial.

Top Casino Brands headed to the Middle East

The UAE’s bold move to welcome gambling could create massive new opportunities for big players in the global gaming industry. Several top Las Vegas casino operators are already making significant investments in the UAE, with the expectation that regulated gambling is coming soon.

Wynn Resorts

Wynn is developing a $3.9 billion integrated resort in Ras Al Khaimah that will include a casino with gaming tables and slot machines, a 5-star luxury hotel with over 1,000 rooms, restaurants, convention space, a spa, retail shops, entertainment venues and more.

Set to open in 2026 on Al Marjan Island, the beachfront resort aims to bring Wynn’s signature high-end experience to the Middle East. Wynn reportedly expects to secure one of the first gambling licenses issued in Ras Al Khaimah.

Caesars Entertainment

Caesars already operates two non-gaming properties in Dubai – Caesars Palace Dubai and Caesars Bluewaters Dubai, which combined have nearly 500 rooms and suites. If Dubai grants Caesars a casino license down the road, the company will be well-positioned to quickly offer gaming at its existing integrated resorts.

MGM Resorts

MGM is developing a massive resort along Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach in partnership with local developer WASL. The resort will bring MGM’s renowned brands like Bellagio and MGM Grand to Dubai.

MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle has hinted at the possibility of incorporating a casino at some point, saying there facility has around 150,000 to 200,000 square feet of space that could easily be converted for gaming.

In addition to these brands, other household names in casino gaming like Las Vegas Sands and Genting Group are likely watching the UAE market closely and could explore investment opportunities as regulations develop.

iGaming: NEXT podcast to discuss the UAE’s first gambling regulator

With gambling poised to arrive in the UAE in the near future, the newly formed General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority and its implications have captured attention far beyond the Gulf region.

On a recent episode of the iGaming NEXT podcast, host Jake Evans and Nico Jansen discussed the UAE’s historic decision to establish a federal gambling regulator.

iGaming NEXT provides news and insights about the global online gaming industry, making it an influential information source followed by gaming executives worldwide.

During their podcast conversation, Jake and Evans highlighted how the GCGRA represents a “major shift” for the traditionally conservative UAE. The hosts also spoke about the appointments of Kevin Mullally and Jim Murren, describing both as highly experienced gambling industry veterans. In their view, these personnel choices demonstrate the UAE is serious about constructing a robust, world-class regulatory regime.

Looking ahead, Evans and Jake expect fierce competition as Las Vegas heavyweights like Caesars, MGM and Wynn vie to capitalize on the blockbuster gaming opportunity taking shape in the UAE. They believe Dubai could become the “Las Vegas of the Middle East” as casino giants look to entrench their brands in the region.

Above all, the podcast hosts concurred that the formation of the GCGRA regulator marks a watershed moment for gambling in the Gulf. With the pieces falling into place, they anticipate integrated resorts featuring casinos, hotels and luxury amenities will reshape travel and tourism across the UAE in the coming years.

Conclusion

The creation of a new federal gambling regulator represents a defining moment for the United Arab Emirates. After years of prohibiting most forms of gambling, the UAE now appears poised to permit regulated gaming activities ranging from lotteries to casinos.

Las Vegas heavyweights like Caesars, MGM and Wynn are already making huge investments in integrated resorts across the region in anticipation of securing casino licenses. These projects could completely redefine tourism and bring billions in new gaming revenue into the country.

Of course, many details around gambling legalization remain uncertain. Individual UAE emirates will shape their own local gaming policies and regulations. However, the big picture is clear – the UAE is opening up to gambling in a major way that will send ripples throughout the international gaming industry.

The GCGRA regulator will have the complex task of constructing a world-class regulatory regime essentially from scratch. How gambling evolves across the culturally conservative UAE will be an intriguing test case to watch in the years ahead. But given the massive financial incentives, global casino brands are certainly keen to be part of this emerging new frontier in the Middle East.

Celebrity Gambler – Tim Naki the Kiwi Blackjack Genius Strikes It Big by Betting Daily

By Shadrack Kairu

Tim Naki was just a regular dairy farmer living in rural New Zealand. Nothing too out of the ordinary. But then he did a 360 degree and pulled off one of the craziest stunts ever witnessed on the world wide web.

So one day, he was checking out Instagram and had an idea. He already had some 15,000 followers at the time on this channel. He considered betting 10 cents for each of his Instagram followers on a round of blackjack each and every single day. With 15,000 followers, that meant Tim’s first bet was a modest $1,500. No big deal for blackjack at an NZ Online Casino.

To his surprise, this crazy idea went massively viral and took on a life of its own. As word spread of the “blackjack guy”, this Kiwi’s follower count began skyrocketing. Very quickly, his once tiny 10 cent bets exploded into six-figure wagers thanks to his million-plus followers.

Could Tim continue winning big day after day? The internet went crazy watching the former farmer’s bold bets. After weeks of this mind-blowing routine, the unthinkable happened – Tim walked away a millionaire because of his online gambling! His wild scheme had paid off hugely.

To truly appreciate the profoundness of Naki’s achievement, we decided to unpack Naki’s journey in this Celebrity Gambler article. We hoped to explore the nuances of his background, look at his previous gambling ventures, and review his innate ability to captivate audiences. Keep reading to find out more below.

Tim Naki Achievements

Tim Naki’s blackjack challenge made him an internet star, but that’s not all he’s done. Let’s take a look at some of the other cool things he’s achieved:

During one of his luckier blackjack sessions, Tim Naki got an absolute dream hand – a Queen and ten of spades. That knockout combo scored him a $230,000 payday right on the spot. But even crazier, it finally pushed Tim’s total winnings over $1 million. Yes, you read that right – Naki had officially become a millionaire from gambling in such an outrageous, storybook accomplishment.

But this big score wasn’t just blind luck. It was the product of Tim’s incredible skill and discipline at the tables. See, he had patiently turned his original $1,500 bankroll into $500,000 through meticulous daily blackjack bets over many weeks. That’s some next-level gambling smarts right there. Not to mention that the Instagram superstar has in the process amassed over 1.3 million followers obsessing over his every move too.

Naki’s also recently paid for his wedding and part of his mortgage with his blackjack winnings. It’s pretty cool that Naki’s success has helped him pay for important things in his life. It shows that taking calculated risks can really pay off.

Finally, a few famous people like pro-surfer Kelly Slater have shown their support for Naki during his blackjack challenge. When big names like that recognize your achievements, you know you’re doing something right. It just goes to show how far-reaching Naki’s impact has been.

Partnerships with Tim Naki

Tim Naki’s amazing blackjack story and the resulting huge online following have expectedly caught the attention of the gambling world and beyond. Because of this, he’s landed some pretty sweet partnerships and collaborations.

One of his coolest partnerships is with the Degeneration Nation group on Facebook. This group is closely linked to an online gambling site called Spinbit. For the past few months, they’ve been really focused on getting Kiwi gamblers to join, with Naki being a big part of this effort.

This partnership is a great example of how content creators with a lot of followers and gambling sites can work together in a way that helps them both. By teaming up with Naki, Spinbit gets access to his big, loyal audience. At the same time, Naki gets more exposure and the chance to make some money from the partnership.

It also shows how important influencer marketing is becoming in the gambling industry. Gambling sites want to connect with people in a real and interesting way, and partnering with popular online personalities is one way to do that.

On top of this, Naki has gotten several offers from different brands like Racing South Australia where he appeared briefly as their International Form Analyst. These offers show just how valuable Naki is as a social media influencer and gambling personality. They also show that the gambling industry is starting to see just how powerful influencer marketing can be.

But Naki has been careful about “selling out.” In his words, he says he wants to really think about any partnerships he takes on to make sure they match up with his values and integrity. This thoughtful approach shows that he wants to stay true to himself. It also shows that he understands the potential problems that can come from endorsing products or services without really looking into them first.

The gambling industry has a lot of potential conflicts of interest and ethical issues and Naki’s approach is a nice reminder of how important it is to be transparent and responsible.

Tim Naki as a Kiwi Influencer

Tim Naki isn’t just famous for his crazy blackjack bets. He’s a huge deal on social media too, especially in his home country of New Zealand. Let’s look at how crazy popular he is online:

  • Instagram: 1.3 million followers
  • Facebook: 34,000 followers
  • Twitch: 14,000 followers
  • YouTube: 5,400 subscribers

Those are some massive numbers by any measure and help show just how good Tim is at grabbing people’s attention across all the big social media platforms. His Instagram following of over 1.3 million (and growing) is just mind-blowing. That’s the real power of influencers – creating content that truly connects with fans.

So, what kind of content does the Kiwi star share? Mostly gambling stuff like blackjack and horse racing. But his devoted followers tune in for way more than just gambling tips. They love Tim’s fun personality, down-to-earth humor, and unique Kiwi perspective.

Most fans say he comes across as such a genuine, relatable guy. That’s his secret sauce for building such an enormous fanbase spanning the globe.

Tim doesn’t just stick to gambling though. He’ll also share glimpses into his personal life like his passion for horse racing (an interest he inherited from his family) and updating fans on his upcoming wedding plans. By being so open and authentic, Tim has forged a deep connection with his fans. They feel like they really know him. And that’s why he’s become such a beloved influencer icon.

Closing Thoughts: Beyond the Influencer

Tim Naki’s unbelievable blackjack hot streak has definitely shaken up the gambling scene and social media landscape. After all, he turned a measly $1,500 stake into a million-dollar bankroll just by consistently betting daily and having incredible table skills. It’s the kind of David vs Goliath story that inspires anyone to dream big and take calculated risks in pursuit of life-changing scores.

But for all the excitement and adulation around Naki’s fairy tale come-up, it’s also crucial to address the potential pitfalls of gambling irresponsibly. While Tim’s story had a storybook ending, there are countless cautionary tales of people losing their shirts, homes, and relationships by getting too reckless and compulsive with betting. Moderation and discipline are essential for safely enjoying gambling’s thrills without suffering devastating personal consequences.

Remember, there’s always a chance of losing big. Naki himself has talked about how “dumb luck” played a role in his success, and he’s warned people against trying to copy what he did. It’s crucial to approach gambling with a clear head and a realistic attitude.

But Naki’s influence goes beyond just his own achievements. He’s played a big part in shaping the gambling scene in New Zealand and beyond. His partnerships and collaborations with different industry players have definitely helped the industry grow and change, possibly opening the door for new and creative ways to approach gambling and entertainment.

As online gambling keeps evolving, influencers like Naki will probably play an even bigger role in shaping what people think and getting them engaged. Their ability to connect with audiences on a personal level and bring authenticity and cultural understanding to their content will be key in creating a more transparent and responsible gambling industry.

As Tim Naki starts his next chapter, whether it’s another bold gambling challenge or something completely different, one thing is for sure: his impact on the gambling world and his status as a Kiwi icon will be remembered for a long time. Through his authenticity, determination, and unbreakable spirit, he’s made a unique place for himself in gambling history. He’s inspired countless others to chase their dreams and embrace smart risks while also reminding us how important it is to gamble responsibly.

When one dollar becomes five: choosing between these 1$ and $5 sign up bonuses

You’ve probably heard the phrase – bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better. But did you know that the same thing applies to online gambling?

With some research, you’ll find many 1$ deposit casinos Canada results from popular search engines. They usually offer matching bonuses. Additionally, there are Canada $5 signup Bonuses, which are apparently better than the first ones. But let’s continue with phrases like the one from the beginning – don’t judge a book by its cover (and a casino bonus by its promised amount).

There are advantages and disadvantages associated with both popular bonus options among Canadian players. This article will explain everything you need to know about them.

What makes 1$ casino bonuses so appealing?

First things first, $1 casino bonuses are not common. They’re an exception today, where most gambling sites require minimum deposits of at least $10.

However, just because they’re rare doesn’t mean you should look for something else. On the contrary, they have potential, and searching for them doesn’t have to be difficult because you can find information on our platform.

The best thing about $1 casino bonuses is that they require a minimum investment in your casino account to get something in return. That’s a tiny amount by any standard.

It’s also good that some of these casinos allow you to use this bonus multiple times. This gives you the opportunity to manage your gambling budget flexibly. It’s worth mentioning that it is mostly about match deposit bonuses of 100%, free spins, or a combination of both.

On the other hand, such bonuses may come with some caveats. For instance, in most cases, you can expect a limitation on the payment methods you can use for this purpose. You can usually make small deposits that will bring you bonuses with the help of e-wallets or cryptocurrency, but not with all credit/debit cards and certainly not with bank transfers.

Furthermore, it’s common for these options to be limited in terms of the games on which you can use the bonus. $1 deposit casinos often offer Canada exclusive free spin bonuses on less popular games.
Some also have relatively challenging wagering requirements (50x and more).

Why you might choose a $5 bonus instead

Why settle for less when you can use more? This question logically arises after you see many $5 signup bonuses. To get an answer, you should familiarize yourself with the benefits $5 casinos in Canada may offer over $1 casinos.

First of all, we will mention the higher quality of the games. It is typical for these sites to have a better selection of games, including slots, live dealer games, table games, and more. In this context, it is good to point out that almost all of them allow all casino games (more or less) to contribute to wagering requirements, unlike $1 casinos, which usually accept only online slots. It gives you more freedom to use the bonuses.

$5 casinos also accept relatively low deposits. Honestly, $5 is not a high amount of money. That’s something that almost anyone can afford. Although the difference is small, you can expect more attractive bonuses and promotions, especially for new players. Again, it is mostly about match bonuses for deposits or free spins. Still, this time, the number of spins can be higher, and the match deposit bonuses can be as high as 200%.
And, theoretically, you also have a higher winning potential.

What about Casinos that offer both?

As we said, both options have certain advantages and disadvantages, which is perhaps why there are casinos that offer both. Some of Canada’s best online casinos leave the choice up to you – you can use a $1 or $5 sign up bonus.
You might even be able to take advantage of both in some cases. For example, many low deposit casinos in Canada offer welcome packages instead of regular welcome bonuses. The packages usually promise bonuses on the first and the following few deposits. So, you might see a $1 sign up bonus on your first deposit and a $5 bonus on your second deposit.
The good news is that at minimumdepositdepositcasinos.org, the authority in $1 and $5 deposit casinos, we negotiate exclusive bonuses at various sites for such bonuses. These deals can be found only on our platform, and nowhere else.

Gaming Club gives players a $1 and $5 signup Bonus

Established in 1994, Gaming Club is one of the favourite online casinos of many Canadian players. Of course, one of the reasons for that is its excellent bonus offer. Namely, Gaming Club gives players a $1 and $5 signup bonus.

On the other hand, those willing to make a deposit of at least $5 can expect 50, 60, and 70 free spins on the Fortunium Gold Mega Moolah slot on the second, third, and fourth deposits, respectively. It is a game from Stormcraft Studios that includes a progressive jackpot, free spins, and several other unique features.

This Gaming Club welcome package also offers a 100% match deposit bonus of up to $350 on the fifth deposit. Of course, the minimum deposit is $5. Classic blackjack and Aces and Jacks or Better video poker titles contribute 2%.

All these deals are exclusive and can only be used through our platform.

Spin Casino gives you more ways to win for 1$ and 5$

Spin Casino is another licensed casino site that gives all Canadian players more ways to win for $1 and $5. Once again, we have an online casino with a welcome package you can get exclusively with our help.

For an incredibly small $1 on your first deposit, you will receive 70 free spins on the Agent Jane Blonde Returns. This Stormcraft Studios slot, with a high RTP of 96.6% and low volatility (more frequent wins), is packed with a respin bonus featuring an expanding wild.

The following four deposits provide generous bonuses, too. So, your second, third, and fourth deposits of at least $5 will provide 50, 70, and 50 free spins, respectively. You can use these spins on the Fortunium Gold Mega Moolah progressive slot. As noted, this game also promises free spins and other special features.

If you deposit at least $5 the fifth time, you can expect a 100% match deposit bonus. The value of this bonus can reach up to $400.

Regarding the last (fifth) bonus, you should expect a different game contribution towards the wagering requirements. So, almost all slots (excluding progressive slots and NetEnt slots) contribute 100%. NetEnt slots contribute 50%, while table poker, roulette, video poker, and blackjack games contribute 8%. Classic blackjack and Jack or Better and Aces video poker titles contribute 2%.

All in all, Canadian players focused on minimum deposit casinos can take advantage of a great bonus offer.

The First Casino Has Now Been Licensed by Saskatchewan Regulator

Canadian online casino players based in Saskatchewan can now legally enjoy online gaming after the province licensed the first online casino. This significant milestone in the iGaming landscape was marked by the rollout of PlayNow.com, which is a partnership between the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation (SaskGaming), the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

Under the agreement, the BCLC will deliver the PlayNow.com platform, while SIGA and SaskGaming will operate and manage the platform, respectively. The minister responsible for SaskGaming noted that in 2021, Saskatchewan had partnered with the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and SIGA to establish the first legal and regulated online casino in the province.

According to a press release, the PlayNow.com platform will have similar features to the one operated by BCLC in British Columbia. The platform, for instance, will have over 500 casino games and sports betting products. Other casino products, such as poker and live casino games, will become available from next year. The launch of the gaming platform in Saskatchewan means it is now available in three provinces, including Manitoba and British Columbia.

In a statement, the SaskGaming President and CEO, Susan Flett, said that PlayNow.com will be a safe Canadian online casino and sportsbook. She further noted that the platform will provide an alternative to grey and illegal online gaming sites.

“Today is a good day for Saskatchewan. PlayNow.com meets the highest standards for safety, security, privacy, and responsible gambling, and will provide a legal and regulated alternative to grey market and illegal gambling sites currently operating in the province,” stated SaskGaming’s president and CEO.

The Road to Legalization

The journey to legalizing Canadian online casinos in Saskatchewan has not been an easy one. Over the years, discussions surrounding the economic advantages of embracing the gaming industry have gained momentum. Proponents have argued that a regulated casino market could contribute significantly to provincial revenue and job creation. The SGLA, after extensive research and public consultations, decided to take a progressive step by issuing the first online casino license to a prominent gaming operator with a proven track record in other jurisdictions.

Partnership with Prominent Software Providers

To deliver a world-class gaming experience, PlayNow.com Casino has partnered with some of the most prominent casino software providers in the industry. This ensures that players have access to cutting-edge technology, stunning graphics, and seamless gameplay. The collaboration with well-known gaming vendors also reflects a commitment to offering a secure and reliable platform. Saskatchewan casino players can expect to enjoy the thrills of games from the likes of Novomatic, NetEnt, Microgaming, IGT, Big Time Gaming, and many more.

Commitment to Responsible Gambling

The director of communication with the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, Shanna Schulhauser, said in a news release that PlayNow.com was chosen for its commitment to responsible gambling. She noted that the platform features GameSense, a responsible gambling program that reminds players of the time and money spent playing casino games and betting on sports. The program also has features such as play breaks, problem gambling referral information, and self-exclusions. The support specialists are available 24/7 via live chat, meaning players can seek help whenever they want.

“They are going to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for live chat on the platform, and that just goes to the support, you know, safer play environment online,” Shanna said.

Economic Impact

The launch of PlayNow online casino is expected to have a positive economic impact on the province. According to Shanna Schulhauser, the province expects to generate over $60 million in revenue within four years. She further noted that there was a lot of market share out there, and they intended capturing a piece of it through PlayNow Casino. In his statement, FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron said that the revenue would be shared between First Nations and the province.

“This historical partnership is the first of its kind, with a First Nations operator for online gaming with revenue sharing between First Nations and the province. This will provide many economic benefits to the residents of the province and our First Nations Communities,” Bobby Cameron said.

Besides generating revenue, the launch of PlayNow is expected to spur job creation in areas such as software development, customer support, and cyber security.

Phasing Out Illegal Online Casinos in Saskatchewan

Although online gambling has been illegal in Saskatchewan, dozens of online casinos have been operating illegally in the province. But with the launch of PlayNow casino, residents will have no reason to play at illegal gambling sites. Instead, they will join PlayNow Casino and play without breaking the law. This will also increase revenue for the province. In a news release, the director of communication with Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, Shanna Schulhauser, said that “the grey market and illegal sites aren’t new to the Saskatchewan marketplace. There are currently thousands of illegal online gaming and sports betting platforms operating throughout Canada. We do hope to capture some of that market share.”

Is PlayNow.Com a Minimum Deposit Casino in Canada?

More and more low deposit casinos have continued to launch in Canada, allowing players to enjoy online gaming without investing too much money. PlayNow Casino is no exception and has a minimum deposit requirement of $5. Well, this is the amount you need to deposit in order to start playing casino games and betting on sports for real money.

Apart from offering a low deposit of $5, the casino has exciting deals that you can unlock without risking a lot of money. If you are a casino player, you will receive a $20 casino bonus right away after making a small deposit of $20. Live casino players will also receive a $20 bonus after investing the same amount. On the other hand, if you are a sports bettor, the sportsbook will jumpstart your betting journey with a match bonus of up to $150. To activate this betting offer, you only need to make a small deposit of between $10-$50.

It is worth mentioning that the above minimum deposit deals at PlayNow.com can only be claimed one at a time. In other words, you cannot combine the casino bonus with the sportsbook welcome bonus. The casino and live casino welcome bonuses also have wagering requirements of 30X and 70X, respectively. So, before you cashout your bonus, you must fulfill these requirements within the given timeframe.

Looking Ahead

The launch of PlayNow.com Casino marks a pivotal moment in Saskatchewan’s gaming history. As the platform gains traction and becomes a staple in the online gaming community, attention will undoubtedly turn to its impact on the local economy, player satisfaction, and the potential for further developments in the gaming landscape. The success of PlayNow.com Casino may pave the way for additional innovations and offerings, shaping the future of online gaming in Saskatchewan. The future is bright, and we hope to see more and more Canadian online casinos entering the Saskatchewan casino marketplace.

What MDC does to get you the best gambling deals in New Zealand

Welcome to Minimum Deposit Casinos New Zealand, the definitive authority when it comes to the best NZ online casinos, not only for Kiwi players but across the world. Online casinos are our passion and our profession, and we’re here to share our knowledge and to help create a safe, superior and spectacular online gambling experience for all players.

Whether you’ve just started dipping your toes into the world of NZ online casinos, or you’re an expert player or a bonus hound looking for your next thrills, you can consider us your one-stop-shop when it comes to sourcing the Best NZ Online Casinos with offers and promotions to match.

We place particular importance on the latter, making sure we test and rate the most generous low deposit casino bonuses from across the world to share the bounty with you. What makes us so great at what we do? It’s simple – we’re a bunch of online casino experts who know exactly what players are looking for, because it’s what we look for ourselves.

We have had years of experience hunting down and analyzing low deposit casino bonuses and we know exactly where to find them and what to keep an eye out for. We also test the actual bonuses ourselves, and this is a very important part of what we do. Unlike some other sites, we don’t simply recommend the offers that are given to us. We test the site, we activate the bonus, we give it a few spins, try to cash out, see whether the terms are favorable or if they’re too expensive or restrictive and generally experience each low deposit casino bonus from a first-hand point of view.

This gives us the edge, because it means we know exactly what we are talking about. We don’t leave anything to chance, or try to guess. If we tell you that the wagering requirements are reasonable, it’s because we’ve managed to fulfill them ourselves. And if we say that low-rollers may find it steep, then you know you can trust us.

Our priority is to source NZ online casinos that are accessible to a wide variety of players, no matter what their budget is. This means that we recommend low minimum deposit bonuses, sites that offer low stake ranges and cashout friendly terms.

Minimum Deposit Casinos negotiates $1 deposit Bonuses

For the above reasons, one of our favorite types of gambling site to recommend is the $1 deposit casino. Put simply, these sites allow you to register and start putting down real money wagers for a very low $1 first deposit. This low sum is also enough to make you eligible for the welcome bonus, with our highest-rated $1 deposit casino sites offering a mix of match deposits and free spins (sometimes both!) upon the first deposit.

You may wonder why these types of bonuses are so difficult to find without the help of Minimum Deposit Casinos. This is because our experts negotiate exclusive deals for you to be able to enjoy these low-cost offers. To be eligible for these bonuses you will need to follow the link from our site, upon which you’ll be led straight to a special $1 bonus that you won’t be able to access anywhere else.

Our team is always on the hunt to add new offers to the list, and we update our list of $1 deposit casino bonuses very often. $1 casino bonuses are particularly important for new players who are not sure how much money they want to commit to this hobby, as well as for low-rollers who give themselves a very small budget to play with. This is because such offers help you stretch your bankroll further with extra bonus cash or free spins so that you can stay playing for longer without having to spend any more money.

And of course, it also leaves you with more money to deposit at other similar $1 deposit casino sites and pick up even more bonuses. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving.

We help you find a low min dep casino payment method

What’s equally important as a low minimum deposit bonus? A fast casino payout – no player wants to be hanging around waiting for their withdrawal to clear, are we right? Our recommended sites all guarantee to process withdrawals without any delay, but it’s also important to be aware that your choice of payment method will also determine the speed with which the winnings are cashed out.

Moreover, some Casino Payment Methods come with high transaction limits that are imposed by the payment provider itself. This means that if the payment provider imposes a minimum $10 when it comes to money transfers, if you opt for this provider you won’t be able to enjoy a $1 low minimum deposit even if the casino offers.

Exercise caution and check all terms carefully to guarantee your low minimum deposit and a fast casino payout. The below payment methods all come with low minimum limits and no prolonged bureaucracy or administration to delay your payment.

Traditional banking options like credit and debit cards take notoriously longer to process, so don’t choose these if you’re after a fast casino payout. As always, we urge you to read the terms and conditions carefully so as to avoid surprises.

We Rate and review legitimate casino sites

Want to get straight to the point of the best gambling sites in New Zealand. You’ll find all you need on our Casino reviews page. What’s been consistently dubbed as ‘the worst-kept secret in Westminster’ has finally been made an official – the UK is set to go to the elections on July 4, 2024. Current incumbent Rishi Sunak made the announcement while getting drenched in pouring rain, in what many political pundits are hailing as a sign of things to come for the beleaguered Prime Minister.

Question is – what impact, if any, will this have on top UK online casinos and on the gambling legislation in general? While a legal shake-up has long been expected – and desired – thanks to the long-awaited Gambling Act Review White Paper, a change in government could easily come with unexpected developments.

There is also the possibility that, even should Sunak’s Conservatives prevail, the White Paper will be temporarily placed on the back burner as the newly-elected government puts its focus elsewhere, leaving UK online casinos in the dark.

July 4 is likely to once again be a tightly-contested race between the Conservative Party that’s currently in government, and the Labour Party, which has been taking the lead in a considerable number of pre-election surveys. The BBC’s June 8 report in fact placed Labour with a 44% average lead, and Sunak’s party dragging behind with 22%, based on figures from the British Polling Council.

This solid 22% gap has solidified speculation that the Gambling Act Review White Paper is far from being viewed as a priority and that Sunak intends to continue dragging his heels on the much-needed reform.

Below, we’re going to take a detailed look at the position that the two main contenders are taking with respect to land-based and online casinos UK, how responsible gambling features in their electoral promises, and anything else that is likely to affect the industry.

The Labour Party’s gambling manifesto

The Labour Party’s main contribution to the brick-and-mortar and online casinos UK industry took place almost 20 years ago when it enacted the Gambling Act of 2005. The law is nowadays best described as ‘analogue’, meaning that it was created at a time when UK online casinos were in their infancy. Thus, it fails to address the increasingly complex needs of the remote gambling scenario.

The Act’s main breakthrough was the establishment of the Gambling Commission (UKGC), which is nowadays responsible for regulating all forms of commercial gambling across the UK. The UKGC is responsible for issuing licenses to gambling operators and for ensuring that they comply with the conditions of said license.

The Labour Party’s gambling law also introduced the concept of responsible gambling, for the first time introducing rules about advertising so as to ensure that minors and vulnerable people are not exposed to gambling.

Although at the time of its introduction, Labour’s Gambling Act was heralded as a breakthrough for a regulated industry, today this doesn’t hold true anymore. The current legislation faces criticism even from within its ranks, with Labour MP Carolyn Harris among the most vocal. In an op-ed on Politics Home, she acknowledged that its shortcomings are mostly rooted in the fact that back in 2005 remote gambling was far from being widespread. However, she adds that a drastic reform is vital.

Back in 2020, Harris was already heavily lobbying for the below reforms should Labour take back government:

  • Centralised affordability checks for high-spenders to ensure that they can afford them.
  • Online stake limits aligning to those in land-based casinos to be implemented.
  • Mandating donations towards funding research, education and treatment.
  • A blanket ban on sponsoring of television programmes and sports teams
  • Another blanket ban on celebrities becoming ambassadors for gambling firms

While the above list only reflects Harris’s electoral campaign, she is likely to find supporters to her cause now that the election date is happening. Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is yet to pronounce himself on the specific measures that would form part of the gambling legislation overhaul.

However, the pressure to take some sort of action will undoubtedly be on. The topic is definitely on the party’s radar, as LabourList.org’s leak of the policy platform that is shaping the party’s electoral manifesto shows.

One of the points pulls no punches, boldly stating: if the Conservatives continue to fail to update analogue gambling laws that are not designed for the digital age, the next Labour government will. So far, Starmer’s public statements show a desire for action that the Conservatives have failed to achieve. In 2023, he told The Independent journalists that he would “back tighter gambling regulations”.

The Conservative Party’s gambling stance

Prime Minister Sunak is likely to face an uphill battle on this topic, as his government has shown itself singularly unwilling to actually implement any kind of reform. The White Paper has been parked for over a year. Moreover, the party has been hounded by problematic behaviour related to the issue.

In 2023, Conservative MP Phillip Davies lobbied the government to allow casinos to offer credit gamblers, including “ultra-high net worth foreign visitors”. The request was made after Davies was entertained by Les Ambassadeurs casino, who hosted him for a meal there. The amendment was, in fact, subsequently included in the White Paper.

The Conservative Party’s White Paper also included the below proposals for reform:

  • A mandatory levy on industry revenues.
  • Tougher affordability checks to prevent huge losses.
  • Online slot stakes are capped between £2 and £15.
  • Limiting bonus and free spin offers.
  • Measures to slow down online casino games.
  • More resources are allocated to the UKGC.
  • Plans for a gambling ombudsman.

However, the Paper has drawn its fair share of criticism, not least for the amount of time it’s taking to implement. It remains to be seen whether Sunak will drive any further action, and when, if re-elected.

Political party funding

The link between politics and UK online casinos is not limited to the enacting of regulations. Betting companies are known to be enthusiastic donors when it comes to funding political parties, with The Independent reporting that betting companies top the list of donations to MPs.

The most generous of these appears to be Ladbrokes Coral, which contributed trips to Cheltenham races, the FA Community Shield football match at Wembley as well as dinner at the Conservative Party conference.

And of course, MP Philip Davies makes an appearance here too, receiving a number of gifts totalling £3,685. Davies used his position as elected chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Betting and Gaming to justify this.

Once you are done, please ensure an appropriate ending to the piece – perhaps about what citizens can expect in the run-up to election day – the PR type campaigning that will happen to get votes.

Political party funding

As election day grows nearer, we can expect more sector-specific updates to reach us from both Labour and the Conservatives. The electorate’s appetite for properly regulated UK online casinos and betting sites is marked, and it would be a mistake on the side of either party to ignore this. And with a number of crucial votes resting on this, we’re likely to see a steady increase in the campaigning efforts of both parties.
